PUMY-SP-80-140V/Y-KMD2
The PUMY-SP Series Multi Split System Air Conditioner offers adaptable and efficient air conditioning solution in a compact, versatile design suitable for small to medium-sized homes and business spaces.
Space-efficient, flexible and quiet heating and cooling for multiple rooms
With a reduced height of under one metre, the PUMY-SP-80–140V/Y-KMD2 is a compact outdoor air conditioner unit well suited to space-constrained or visually sensitive sites. Its low-profile design allows for installation in areas such as balconies, narrow service zones or rooftops where larger systems may not be viable. Piping can be routed from four directions—front, back, bottom or right—providing greater layout flexibility during system design and installation. This makes the unit particularly attractive for mixed-use developments, retrofits or apartment projects where external visibility and access are key considerations.
Designed with low-noise performance in mind, the PUMY-SP-80–140V/Y-KMD2 includes a Quiet Mode that reduces sound levels by up to 10 dB(A), supporting comfortable operation in residential and noise-sensitive environments. This makes it suitable for use in high-density developments where outdoor sound levels are tightly regulated, such as apartments or townhouses. Quiet Mode is configurable via the outdoor unit’s control board (requires PAC-SC36NA-E) and allows the system to run night-time hours or other designated periods. Capacity reduction differs by mode setting. The combination of compact form and quiet operation ensures minimal disruption to building occupants and neighbouring properties.
Equipped with advanced inverter technology, the PUMY-SP-80–140V/Y-KMD2 delivers strong seasonal efficiency for both heating and cooling. The SP80 model achieves a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 4.27 and an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of up to 4.41, making it a reliable choice for projects focused on long-term energy savings. This outdoor air conditioner unit supports a wide range of indoor unit types, including wall mounted, ducted, ceiling cassette, bulkhead and floor-standing models from the City Multi VRF, M Series, S Series and P Series. This flexibility enables system designers to tailor indoor comfort across multiple zones without compromising layout or aesthetics. PUMY-SP Series connects to City Multi indoor units via a T-piece. Connection to M Series, S Series and P Series require a branch box.
New compact design fits into narrow outdoor unit space of apartments and offices, with a reduced height of less than one metre.
The PUMY-SP is a very diverse unit, with a selection of 27 different indoor models and multiple capacities available.
Noise level can be reduced up to 10dB(A). This allows you to operate the unit even in the night in a residential zone. *Capacity reduction differs by mode setting. PAC-SC36NA-E is required to activate Quiet Mode.
Enhancing installation location flexibility, the fan external static pressure of the CITY MULTI PUMY-P Series units can be adjusted up to 30 Pa. This feature allows for installations in areas such as balconies or spaces near louvres that might have been less accessible previously. However, it's worth noting that using this function could lead to an increase in noise levels.
Unlock the door to smarter heating and cooling systems, for total home comfort. This innovative technology connects your Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner to your smartphone, tablet or online account, giving you the freedom to fully control each unit on-the-go via an internet connection from anywhere in the world.

*3 To use Google Assistant to control your air conditioner you will need a Google Home Smart speaker.
The capability of a Multi Split System lies in the capacity to individually control the temperature of all air conditioner units, even if a combination of different models have been used. Individual air conditioner control allows occupants in different rooms to select a temperature (within the same mode) that suits their needs, without affecting the temperature settings in other rooms. The capacity to individually control each air conditioner unit may also result in savings on your electricity bill, with the ability to turn a single air conditioner unit off when it isn’t required.
Multi Split Systems are conveniently designed to keep the exterior of your home clutter free, with the ability to connect multiple (2-8) indoor air conditioning units to a single outdoor unit.
Demand Response mode is activated in response to signals sent from the power distributor at times when it is necessary to reduce peak demand.

Demand Response mode allows a compatible outdoor air conditioner unit to temporarily adjust its cooling or heating output during peak electricity usage times and when the grid is under strain. This assists in stabilising energy demand, which can contribute to the prevention of power shortages, and ensures the system can continue operating at optimal efficiency. The PUMY-SP series is Demand Response capable. Note: Quiet mode is not compatible with Demand Response mode.
The PUMY-SP Series offers all the benefits of a VRF system in the smallest City Multi chassis ever released by Mitsubishi Electric. Compared to standard multi split systems, it delivers improved energy performance with higher COP and EER ratings, thanks to advanced inverter technology.
This outdoor air conditioner unit can connect to a wide range of indoor units, including models from the City Multi, M Series, S Series, and P Series ranges. The M Series includes stylish and feature-rich wall mounted units such as the AP, EF and LN models, giving designers and installers the freedom to select units based on both performance and aesthetics. With support for 2 to 8 indoor units across 27 compatible models, the PUMY-SP Series is a versatile alternative to conventional multi split systems.
Inverter technology allows an air conditioner’s compressor to adjust its speed based on temperature demands rather than turning on and off repeatedly. This results in greater energy efficiency, faster cooling and heating, quieter operation, and a more stable indoor climate. Mitsubishi Electric inverter technology ensures that the PUMY-SP multi split system AC can deliver reliable performance and high efficiency.
Yes—all Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning systems must be installed by licensed professionals. A licensed refrigeration technician is required to handle the installation of the air conditioning system, including refrigerant handling and system commissioning. Any electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician to ensure compliance with Australian standards and safety regulations. To ensure correct setup and optimal performance, contact an authorised Mitsubishi Electric dealer who can coordinate installation by appropriately qualified trades.
Yes—the CITY MULTI PUMY-SP Series supports an external static pressure setting of up to 30 Pa. This allows for greater flexibility when installing the outdoor unit in locations such as balconies or near louvres, where airflow may be partially restricted. The ESP can be adjusted via dip switch on the unit. Keep in mind that enabling this setting may increase noise levels, so it should be used based on the specific requirements of the installation site.
Wi-Fi control is available for the PUMY-SP Series when compatible indoor units are connected. With the addition of an optional Wi-Fi adaptor for each indoor unit, users can manage their air conditioning system remotely using a smartphone, tablet or other smart device. This allows for convenient temperature adjustment, scheduling, and monitoring even when away from the property.
Optional Wi-Fi adapter required per unit. Requires an internet connection and the Wi-Fi Control App downloaded on your smartphone or tablet with the latest operating system available.
