FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Ducted air conditioning is a type of climate control system that’s commonly used in residential and commercial settings to condition internal spaces through a series of ductwork and diffusers or grilles.

With the air conditioning unit concealed in the ceiling cavity or bulkhead space, it gives the designer flexibility to locate the unit out of view with the freedom to choose the diffusers or grilles to suit the architectural design.

To cool your home, the ducted air conditioning unit draws in warmer air from the room and passes it over an evaporator coil. This coil contains a refrigerant that absorbs heat from the air, causing the air to cool. The cooled and conditioned air is then passed through a series of ductwork and outlet grilles to be distributed throughout the entire home.

To regulate the temperature, the inverter-driven compressor in the ducted air conditioning unit will speed up and slow down as needed to maintain the desired temperature.

Zoning your ducted air conditioning is a great way to ensure that each room in your home stays comfortable all year round. By dividing your home into separate zones (e.g., different rooms or a group of rooms), you can have control over which areas are air conditioned throughout your home. This means that you can turn off a section in your house when it’s not in use, like a bedroom during the day while keeping your home office warm or cool as you work.

There are a few different ways to zone your ducted air conditioning, so be sure to talk to a professional about the best option for your home.

In addition, an optional Wi-Fi adaptor allows you to control the zoned system remotely with Wi-Fi App, Alexa or Google Assistant.

This functionality requires the installation of an additional adaptor MAC-568IF-E Wi-Fi Controller (available from your Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner installer). The Wi-Fi Controller app (available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) can be installed on compatible devices.

Just like any other appliance in your home, your ducted air conditioning system needs regular servicing to keep it running smoothly. Most ducted air conditioning units should be serviced at least once a year.

However, if you live in an area with high pollen counts or a lot of dust in the air, you may need to have your system serviced more frequently.

Servicing your ducted air conditioner regularly can help to extend its lifespan and prevent problems such as excessive noise, decreased airflow and leaks.

To ensure that your ducted air conditioner is always operating at peak performance, schedule a servicing appointment with a qualified technician at least once a year.

Single-phase power is a two-wire alternating current (AC) power circuit. It is commonly used in homes for powering everyday appliances. On the other hand, three-phase power is a three-wire AC circuit and is typically used in larger electrical systems or in businesses due to its ability to power heavy-duty equipment. The PEA-M160HAA ducted air conditioning unit can be connected to either a single-phase or three-phase outdoor unit, offering users flexibility in their power options and where they choose to install this system.

The unique 2-piece construction of the PEA-M160HAA allows it to be split, which makes installation easier for homes with restricted roof space or limited access. Its fan section and heat exchanger can be separated to allow for easier handling and assembly once placed inside the roof space itself. The flange between the two sections ensures that installation in narrow spaces between roof trusses is made more accessible as well. This design, combined with the capability for whole home heating and cooling, makes it an exemplary solution for existing homes during renovations.

Buying an air conditioner like the PEA-M160HAA offers numerous advantages over traditional gas heating. Air conditioners provide both cool air during hotter seasons and heated air during the colder winter months, ensuring your home remains at the ideal temperature all year round. Additionally, the PEA-M169HAA can be integrated with smart home devices, offering you superior control over your home’s climate and allowing you to conserve energy from afar. Gas heating can also sometimes produce uneven heat alongside the potential safety concerns, whereas ducted air conditioning systems distribute air evenly throughout the house with less risk involved. Purchasing an air conditioning system allows users to take total control of their home or office temperatures without the risks that come with gas heaters and fans.
