UPS & Lithium-Ion Battery Solutions
BCL04-BB
The Samsung lithium-ion battery solution, BCL04, was specifically designed to meet the demands of large-scale UPS applications. With the high current capabilities of the Lithium Manganese Oxide / Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide mix (LMO / NMC), this battery is capable of providing megawatts of power in just a few strings. Pair the high-power density with its 15-year design life, and it is now a leading battery solution for all high-power applications.
This solution for high-power applications stands out with its impressive features, including high discharge current capability, small footprint, and low total cost of ownership (TCO). It offers powerful performance in a compact design, making it a cost-effective solution for demanding applications.
The integrated rack control module ensures rack-level safety by monitoring voltage, current and temperature. It includes a 600A moulded case circuit breaker for isolation, a Modbus TCP/IP communication port for seamless communication and redundant control power supplies for reliability. Streamlined installation, with single-hole input power connections and top access cable entry contributes to an efficient system.

The battery module is designed for longevity and high-power output, featuring a multi-layered safety power cell for enhanced durability. It incorporates built-in battery monitoring capabilities, ensuring efficient and reliable performance. The module is constructed by laser-welded precision, emphasising structural integrity and reinforcing the overall robustness of the battery system.
LiB can be cycled 25x more than VRLA, enabling a longer lifespan, peak shaving and grid stabilisation capabilities. With the LiB cabinets integrated battery management system providing real-time data and trending, as well as safety monitoring and control, a visual inspection is only required once a year. Battery replacement services are not expected over the lifetime of the UPS system which also contributes to reduced maintenance costs over the lifecycle of the product.
