Programmable Controllers MELSEC
FX5U
The Mitsubishi Electric FX5U PLC is a high-performance, versatile controller that combines rapid processing speeds, extensive I/O capabilities, and built-in advanced functions to deliver powerful and flexible automation solutions for a wide range of automation applications.
The Mitsubishi Electric FX5UC PLC is an ultra-compact powerhouse designed for advanced industrial automation in space-constrained environments. Despite its small footprint, the FX5UC delivers impressive performance with a rapid 34ns execution time for basic instructions and support for up to 512 I/O points. This compact controller comes equipped with built-in analog inputs, high-speed counters, and positioning functions, making it highly versatile for a range of applications. The FX5UC excels in scenarios where space is at a premium, such as small machines, robotics, and compact control panels. Its combination of high-speed processing, extensive built-in features, and expandability options makes the FX5UC an ideal choice for businesses looking to maximise automation capabilities while minimising space requirements.
Ethernet port, RS-485 port, and SD memory card slot are standard equipment in the CPU module
The CPU module has a built-in positioning function. Complex multi-axis/interpolation control is also possible by using a high-speed pulse input/output module or simple motion module.
Analogue control is possible by using a variety of extension modules in addition to the analogue input/output function of the CPU module.
GXWorks3 is the next generation of our engineering software. Simple and easy to use while still supporting structures programming.
With embedded multi-speed, interrupt positioning and simultaneous start, the FX5U allows high-speed, precise positioning at a low cost. Further, the counter interrupt and sensor interrupt deliver high-speed and accurate positioning independent of PLC scan time.
With 2 analogue inputs and 1 analogue output as standard and improved PID performance, users can implement sophisticated functions at low cost without the need for additional hardware.
Simple connection options to a wide range of automation equipment, including Mitsubishi Electric servos and inverters, Cognex vision systems, networks and energy meters, with reduced wiring effort and no additional programming.
With Ethernet communications included as standard, users can easily set up communications with other Ethernet-enabled systems and the higher-level enterprise, perform remote data monitoring over the Internet, and use the SNTP function (time synchronisation from a time server via a network).
Software-based synchronous control can be used as an alternative to mechanical control, such as gear, shaft, transmission and cam. In addition, cam control is even easier with cam auto-generation. Synchronous control can be simply operated (start/stop) for each axis, allowing synchronous and positional control axes within the same program.
Cam data for a rotary cutter can be generated automatically simply by registering the sheet length, synchronisation width, rotary cutter axis dimensions, etc. All servo axes can be synchronised via SSCNETIII/H by plug-and-play.
The actual position of the servo motor can be obtained based on the registration mark printed on the high-speed moving film. Compensation of the cutter axis position based on the registration marks keeps the cutting position constant.
The FX5U offers a range of troubleshooting functions to speed system set-up, increase system availability and reduce maintenance requirements. Comprehensive debugging functions are included, along with improved diagnostics functions. Simple maintenance is facilitated through improved diagnostics, including error history, hardware monitor, SD card for logging & tracing functions, automatic system recognition and several program debugging functions.
To protect your intellectual property, the FX5U comes with several security functions, such as privilege-based program access and a program on an SD card with a copy protection password.
Reuse existing FX3 expansion modules with the FX5U via a bus conversion module and easily port existing FX3 programs to FX5U.
