The new HC5500 home theatre projector is driving the projector revolution.
Mitsubishi Electric continues its reputation for high-quality, high-performance and affordable home theatre projectors with the release of the HC5500. Focusing on enhanced black reproduction, the HC5500 commands a powerful contrast ratio of 14000:1, with rapid and smooth transitions between dark and bright scenes. Fully manufactured in Japan, the HC5500 combines the richest blacks and the brightest whites to deliver the ultimate visual sensory experience that will satisfy even the most insatiable film palate.
The HC5500 features new auto-iris technology to control the pixel level light intensity of each image displayed. Instant tracking technology also tones down dark scenes to the best black levels, allowing each scene to be reproduced with breathtaking precision and clarity.
“We wanted to continue Mitsubishi Electric’s long-standing tradition of combining quality, cutting-edge technology and affordability to deliver the very best experience at an affordable price,” said Stuart Baker, Senior Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Australia’s Visual Information Systems group. “In line with this, the HC5500 has been equipped with features you’d normally find in higher-priced models. The competitively-priced HC5500 is a sound investment for years of quality visual enjoyment.”
The projector also features a 14-bit gamma correction processing function, setting it apart from most conventional 10-bit capacity projectors, a 1.2x power zoom and focus, as well as a power lens shift for installation flexibility. The HC5500 is equipped with inorganic LCD panels, which have approximately 10 times the life of standard organic film panels, and are designed to retain the clarity and sharpness of images to consistently deliver a complete visual experience over many years.
The HC5500 has a full-HD compatible lens, which incorporates three extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses to ensure a higher performance over conventional glass lenses. With a newly redesigned cooling system comprised of a low-noise fan and a downsized motor, the HC5500 emits a barely perceptible operating noise of just 19dB.
