Mitsubishi Electric Gives Western Sydney Locals an A-League Experience

On Saturday 5th January, Mitsubishi Electric Australia, in partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers, hosted a Community Kids Clinic at the world-renowned ANZ stadium in Olympic Park, Sydney.

A free event, the Kids ‘Kickstart" a Healthy New Year Coaching Clinic was designed to teach local families the importance of a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on fresh foods and physical activity.

The event saw approximately 150 children from Western Sydney take part in a one-hour coaching clinic with A-League players and Wanderers community coaches. The clinic included basic ball skills, teamwork and game play. Following the coaching session, those in attendance were treated to a delicious chicken rice bowl, created and prepared by Mitsubishi Electric Australia Brand Ambassador and Celebrity Chef, Ed Halmagyi. Recipes were included in the Healthy Lifestyle Guide so families could recreate Ed’s summer-fresh dishes at home. Participants were treated to giveaways, including a free Mitsubishi Electric Australia Healthy Lifestyle Guide and a general admission ticket to the Wanderers game against Melbourne Victory (MV).

The longevity of the successful partnership between Mitsubishi Electric Australia and the Wanderers can be attributed to the strong alignment of their shared values, with Mitsubishi Electric taking great pride in the Company’s continued support of the Western Sydney community.

Jeremy Needham, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Australia commented, “The Western Sydney Wanderers have worked tirelessly to cultivate a strong sense of community here in Western Sydney. Mitsubishi Electric refrigerator products serve Australian’s appetite for fresh and healthy eating so it’s an honour to play a part in motivating locals to be more involved in the promotion of healthy lifestyles and youth participation.”

We look forward to continuing our work with the Club in the 2018/19 season and beyond.”

John Tsatsimas, CEO of the Western Sydney Wanderers, says the Community Kids Clinic is an important event to foster the development of local youth sport and the importance of healthy eating.

“As one of our longest-serving partners, we are continuously inspired by the unwavering commitment Mitsubishi Electric Australia has to promoting a healthy lifestyle.”
