In this role, you will provide specialist leadership, engineering, and technical support for our Railway division and other related projects.
Ideally, we are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager with a background in the Rail industry and/or related sectors.
The Role:
This role will be responsible for taking ownership of multiple projects, ensuring the successful development and delivery of all project scopes including:
- Managing the engineering deliverables for Rail projects including design reviews, technical reports, warranty matters, resolving compliance issues, etc.
- Planning and management of labour resources and project assets
- Risk assessments including financial, QHSE, and stakeholder management
- Budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting
- Client liaison and satisfaction
- Liaison with MELCO Japan and other suppliers in respect of technical issues including compliance matters, localisation, design reviews, quality, etc
- Manage day to day workload of the Engineering team and other members of the wider project team.
- Work closely with the Engineering team and provide all technical support to produce project deliverables.
- Point of contact for all interactions related to the project
- Work closely with Engineering Manager, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Team, Testing, and Field Service teams
About you:
Your skills and experience will include:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in Rail (or adjacent industry) engineering environment with a high level of engineering knowledge and experience in this sector
- Demonstrated project management experience in Rail or adjacent industry with complex and dynamic environments supported through additional higher-level project management qualifications
- Awareness and ability to address the whole of system requirements and design issues, including safety and ILS and overarching application to associated engineering activities
- Demonstrated ability to lead, foster cooperation, and provide engineering management of multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven ability in internal/external customer liaison, producing and reviewing project documentation, and planning/scheduling project activities
As this is a leadership role, you will need to bring a mentoring and coaching mindset to developing and growing the broader engineering team’s capability and productivity. Your advanced communication skills and extensive experience in liaising with all stakeholders will see you succeed in this role.
