The full high-definition HC5500 from Mitsubishi Electric, with its native 1080P high definition (1920 x 1080) resolution, 1200 ANSI lumens brightness and superb 14,000:1 contrast ratio, sets all new standards in quality and affordability.

The HC5500 comes equipped with all the great features you've come to expect from our Home Theatre projectors:
New generation inorganic LCD panel

Inorganic LCD panel
Normally found in higher priced models, the HC5500 features the latest inorganic LCD panel for full high-definition projection. This LCD panel generates high definition images that jump off the screen with vivid colour and rich, smooth blacks, and with approximately 10 times the life of standard organic film panels, our LCD panels are designed to provide outstanding images over the long run, with colours that stay vibrant and high definition images that retain their sharpness.
Full-HD compatible lens

| ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lenses |
In order to display full-HD resolution, the HC5500 is equipped with a lens system comprised of 17 elements in 14 groups, including three ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, which are more costly and deliver higher performance than conventional glass lenses. This lens system dramatically improves chromatic aberration and peripheral focus, giving you a sharp, uniform inmages right to the edge of the screen.
New optical engine greatly increases installation flexibility

To allow impressive big-screen images to be enjoyed even in a small room, the HC5000 is equipped with a 1.6x power zoom and focus. The projection distance for a 100-inch (16:9) picture is just 3.1 meters. In addition, there is also a power lens shift for moving the lens vertically and horizontally, greatly increasing installation flexibility.
One of the industry's quietest projectors, just 19 dB
Due to the redesigned cooling system and the use of a low-noise fan, operating noise has been reduced to an amazingly low 19 dB (low mode).
Mitsubishi Electric newly developed auto iris for seamless scene transitions
Often found in higher priced models, the HC5500 features a swift auto-iris control algorithm, which offers high speed transitions between light and dark images, for faithful reproduction of scene sequences in your favourite films or shows. Combined with the HC6000's original contrast control, the auto-iris feature always ensures you get the richest blacks, the brightest whites, and the most vivid colours in between.

The optimum design for temperature control of the new colour light source lamp, as well as Mitsubishi Electric's unique lighting timing, have extended the useful life of the lamp to a maximum of 5000 hours.
Dust protection for LCD panel
To prevent dust from adhering to the LCD panel, the LCD block is equipped with a dust protection cover.
Side Loading Lamp
Users can replace the lamp with out taking down the projector if ceiling mounted. This design simplifies lamp replacements without turning the projector around or over when mounted on the ceiling or resting on a shelf. This design helps to reduce overall cost of ownership and maintenance.
Dual HDMI v1.3 Connectors compatible with Deep Colour
Allows for 10 and 12 bit video in addition to conventional 8-bit for reproduction of full colour gradients and high contrast.
*Maximum of 5000 hours at low mode and 2000 hours at standard mode. Lamp life is defined as the average time until brightness is reduced by half; it is not a guaranteed life for all lamps. Lamp life will vary considerably depending on the usage environment and conditions, and whether regular maintenance such as cleaning is performed.
