Diamond Voice 56VP PCI modem (Rockwell chipset) drivers.
Note: No Windows XP drivers available for this modem
Installing Windows 95 and 98 Drivers
- Download the drivers and save them in a directory on the computer’s hard disk drive.
- Run the file that was downloaded to extract the driver files.
- Check the Control Panel’s System/Device Manager and make sure that no PCI modem is installed. If a modem is installed, close the Device Manager and open Add/Remove Programs. Select the PCI modem from the list and click Add/Remove and follow the prompts to remove the existing installation.
- Restart the PC. When The PC is turned on and Windows starts, you will see the New Hardware Found dialogue box. A new serial communications (COM) port will be installed during this procedure, as well as the modem.
- Select Don’t detect my modem; I will select it from a list, then click on Next
Windows 95
Select the driver location when prompted by clicking Other Locations… then browse to the directory that you saved the drivers in and click OK. Windows will look for the correct driver and install it automatically. Click Finish when this has completed
Windows 98
Select the driver location when prompted by clicking Next and select Search for the best driver for your device (recommended). Click on Next, select Specify a Location, browse to the directory where you saved the drivers and click OK. Windows will look for the correct driver and install it automatically. Click Finish when this has completed
Installing Windows NT 4.0 Drivers
- Download the drivers and save them in a directory on the computer’s hard disk drive.
- Run the file that was downloaded to extract the driver files.
- Check the Control Panel’s Modem Configuration and make sure that no PCI modem is installed. If a modem is installed, close the device Manager and open Add/Remove Programs. Select the PCI modem from the list and click Add/Remove and follow the prompts to remove the existing installation.
- Restart the PC. The modem will not be automatically detected.
- Once the PC has finished booting, go to the directory that contains the modem drivers. Run the setup.exe file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the modem.
- After installation, check the Control Panel’s Modem Properties and increase the Maximum Speed setting to 115200 bps.
