Manual Image Adjustment for LCD Monitors

To manually adjust the image:

1. Display the adjustment test pattern. This is the best way to observe changes as you adjust the image. Windows users should run the test pattern program. For non-Windows operating systems, you also can use the test pattern by downloading it from this page. Alternatively, use another full-screen image, such the desktop of the operating system (note that the alternative image may not be able to provide best results).

2. Referring to the monitor's User Manual, use the monitor's On-Screen Display (OSD) to adjust the Clock setting. Set the Clock so that each of the vertical black and white lines in the centre part of the test pattern can be clearly seen.

3. Use the OSD to adjust the Horizontal Position to centre the image on the screen.

4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary until the image is the full width of the screen and the vertical black and white lines are distinct and clearly seen. Note that some noise that often appears as moving horizontal lines may still be present.

5. Adjust the monitor's Phase Clock to remove any reisdual noise.

Note: If text on the monitor's screen cannot be read at any time, adjust the Clock setting of the OSD until it can be read.
