Transform your living room into a lavish theatre space with the HC3100 from Mitsubishi Electric. Featuring state of the art technology, this high definition projector generates stunning images with rich black tones and crystal clear picture quality.

Newly Developed Panel Driver (DDP3020)
The HC3100's formatter board is equipped with a combined full 10-bit processing I/P converter and scaler, and a 12-bit floating point digital gamma controller. The result is approximately four times the number of gradations of a conventional 8-bit model, so even skin tones are faithfully reproduced.
High-speed LVDS (low voltage differential signal) drive
A high-speed memory (RLDRAM) with improved data transmission efficiency, and a high-speed LVDS drive provide subtle gradations of expression rivalling high-end models.

8-bit (256 steps) 10-bit (1024 steps
State-of-the-Art DMD panel (DC3) providing a high contrast ratio of 4500:1
The HC3100 is equipped with the latest DMD panel (D3) featuring an expanded mirror operation angle of 12 degrees. In addition to its exceptional light usage efficiency, this new panel's performance is further enhanced by the new motor-driven iris lens optical engine, achieving a high contrast ratio of 4500:1. The variable lens aperture optimally adjusts picture quality according to image content. Bright scenes are clear and vibrant, while dark scenes have subtle gradations and sharp black reproduction.

10-bit I/P conversion circuit for fewer "jaggies"
A full 10-bit I/P conversion circuit significantly reduces noise, for smooth, beautiful images with fewer "jaggies" (stair-like lines).

BrilliantColor™
A new colour processing algorithm and system-level colour signal image enhancement processing provides bright, vibrant reproduction of the neutral colours commonly found in videos and natural scenery.
D65 light standard (colour temperature: 6500K) reproduction
For more realistic colour reproduction of the visual source, the HC3100 is equipped with a colour wheel that reproduces the colour temperature considered to comprise standard light - D65 (6500 K).
Motor-driven iris lens with 2-step opening and closing
In order to optimize the incident light transmitted to the DMD chip, the HC3100 is equipped with a convenient motor-driven system for adjusting the lens aperture; open or closed can be selected with the remote control.

2-3 pull-down for high precision conversion of film sources
The HC3100 features 2-3 pull-down to significantly reduce "jaggies"in interlaced (480i or 576i) movie sources. In addition, the combination of several functions enables each mode -- either high brightness or high picture quality -- to be easily selected according to the image.
Colour wheel with 4x 5x speed settings
The colour wheel speed can be set to 5x for viewers who are bothered by colour breaking noise or to 4x for those who give priority to gradations.

User Gamma Correction
In addition to the 3 modes of sports, video, and cinema, for times when the normal brightness function cannot address user preferences such as a desire to increase black level reproduction, brighten neutral colours, or suppress highlights when watching a movie, the gamma correction function makes it possible to independently fine-adjust only the black level, neutral colour, or white gradations.

Quiet operation of just 25dB and a long lamp life
Operating noise has been reduced to just 25dB by employing a low-noise fan and redesigning the shape of the colour wheel holder and lamp fins. Moreover, the optimal temperature control design used for the 200W light source lamp extends the lamp's useful life to a maximum of 3000 hours*.

Centre lens design and front exhaust for installation flexibility
In order to make it easier to align the projection angle with the centre of the screen, the lens is positioned in the centre of the unit. Hot air is expelled through a front exhaust for further installation flexibility.

Front of unit
HDCP*1 compatible HDMI*2 input terminals
The HC3100 is equipped with HDMI input terminals, the next-generation interface standard. Connecting the projector to a DVD player or other device with HDMI output makes it possible to take advantage of the characteristics of DLP full digital processing. Digital processing of all signals with no analogue conversion ensures that the image is projected with no deterioration. Colour gain control at the time of input is also possible. (when there is a colour difference)
*1 HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a copyright protection function for digital interfaces.
*2 HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a next-generation digital interface standard that features additional functions for home electronics, such as the copyright protection function HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), while maintaining compatibility with DVI (Digital Visual Interface) display interface technology.
* HDMI, the HDMI logo, and High-Definition Multimedia Interface are trademarks or registered trademarks of HDMI Licensing LLC.

Image position and shutter function for movies in the ideal image position
The HC3100 features a shutter function that cuts out unnecessary areas (black borders, etc.) at the top and bottom of a cinemascope picture for the ideal movie viewing environment.

Adjustable overscan
The overscan rate for images on DVDs and other media can be adjusted between 90% and 100% in one-percent increments (when a HDMI component is connected).
Trigger Terminal
The HC3100 is equipped with a screen trigger that synchronizes raising and lowering of an electrically-operated screen with the projector power switch, so projection can begin at the touch of a button.
Vertical and horizontal trapezoidal distortion correction
Digital trapezoidal distortion correction corrects screen distortion within ±40 steps vertically and ±25 steps horizontally (one step is equivalent to approximately one degree).
Backlit remote control with direct image quality adjustment
The image quality can be directly adjusted and the motor-driven iris opened or closed using the remote control. The remote control is also backlit for easy operation even in a dark room.

*Maximum of 3000 hours at low mode and 2000 hours at standard mode.Lamp life is defined as the average time until brightness is reduced by half; it is not a guaranteed life for all lamps.
Lamp life will vary considerably depending on the usage environment and conditions, and whether regular maintenance such as cleaning is performed.
